Link to Windows

Connect an Android phone to Windows

Link to Windows is a productivity app from Microsoft Corporation for people who use an Android phone alongside a Windows PC. It links the two devices so common phone tasks can be handled from the computer, reducing the need to switch between screens while working, studying, or managing messages.

Useful phone features on your PC

• View and reply to text messages from Windows.
• Make and receive phone calls through the connected PC.
• Browse recent phone photos and use them in desktop work without manually sending them to yourself.
• See selected phone notifications on the Windows desktop and manage them from there.
• On supported phones, open compatible mobile apps in windows on the PC.

What to expect

The app is designed to work with Microsoft’s Windows companion experience, with setup and available functions depending on the phone, PC, permissions, and connection. Basic linking can be useful on its own, while supported devices may offer a broader set of tools such as app access and file movement between screens. Some users may need to review several permissions before calls, messages, photos, and notifications work as intended.

Popularity and user feedback

Link to Windows has surpassed 1,000,000,000 installs and holds a rating of 3.858011 from 1,130,679 reviews. Those figures show broad use across the Android and Windows ecosystem, although the experience can vary by handset and by which features are available on a particular setup.
