YouTube

Video streaming for everyday viewing

YouTube is Google’s Android app for watching, finding, and sharing online videos. It suits viewers who want access to content across news, music, education, entertainment, gaming, and specialist interests, as well as creators who publish videos for an audience. The app also includes short-form clips, live content, comments, subscriptions, and tools for keeping track of watched videos.

Finding and watching content

The Home feed presents recommendations based on viewing activity, while search helps users locate specific videos, channels, and topics. Subscribers can follow channels and return to new uploads through the Subscriptions area. Playback supports quality selection and captions where available, and viewing history helps users continue videos or revisit earlier content across supported devices.

• Watch long-form videos, live broadcasts, and short clips
• Search by topic, title, channel, or creator
• Subscribe to channels and manage a personal watch history
• Use comments, live chat, and other community features

Tools for creators and communities

YouTube is not limited to playback. From the mobile app, eligible users can record, edit, upload, and livestream video. Channel posts, premieres, comments, and live chat give creators several ways to communicate with viewers. Optional channel memberships and YouTube Premium provide additional ways to support creators or access paid benefits, depending on availability and account settings.
