Neighbors by Ring

Local safety information at a glance

Neighbors by Ring is a community news app for people who want updates about incidents and safety concerns in their area. It combines posts from nearby residents with information shared by local police and fire departments, giving users a more local view than general news services. The app suits residents who want to follow events close to home and stay aware of issues affecting their neighborhood.

What you can find in the app

• Nearby incident updates: Browse reports about events such as suspected thefts, unusual activity, and local emergencies.
• Community posts: Residents can share descriptions, photos, and videos connected to incidents in their area.
• Public safety notices: Follow official updates and requests for information from participating law enforcement and emergency services.
• Map and feed views: Review reports in a scrolling feed or examine where incidents have been reported geographically.

Practical strengths and limitations

The app is built around location-based information, so its usefulness depends on how active the surrounding community is. In busy areas, frequent notifications can become distracting, especially when many posts concern minor or repeated events. Community reports may also reflect individual impressions rather than confirmed facts, so official updates and source details are important when judging what has happened.

Ratings and availability

Neighbors by Ring is published by Ring.com in the News & Magazines category. It has a 4.68 rating from more than 78,000 reviews and has recorded 1,000,000+ installs. Those figures point to broad adoption among Android users looking for neighborhood-level safety news and community reporting.
